Salt System Type

Owning a salt chlorination system makes operating and maintaining a pool much easier. Maintaining chlorine level with tablets is more time consuming, providing swings in chlorine distribution. As the tablets wear down, the amount of chlorine being distributed becomes less and less. That's where the salt chlorinator system comes in. It generates a specific percentage of chlorine every time the system is circulating. The salt system’s ability to consistently produce chlorine to sanitize the water even when you’re away for a longer period of time makes owning a pool or spa with a salt chlorinator system easier. Converting your pool or spa to salt is easy, allowing installation of the system right into your existing equipment set-up. Then just add salt to the water at the manufacturer suggested ppm, and you’re ready to enjoy the benefits of relaxing and swimming in a salt chlorinated pool or spa. A good rule of thumb for every 40 lbs bag of salt that's added to 10,000 gallons of water, raises the salinity level about 300 ppm. An important thing to note is to make sure if installing on an above ground pool, that the pool’s construction is corrosion resistant or saltwater friendly. Installing a salt system on a pool that is not intended for saltwater, can damage the pool and void the manufacturer's warranty.
